church choice

Sep 13, 2018

I know that many readers are interested in what diocesan priests from all over New Zealand are hearing this week at our five-yearly assembly.  When your priest arrives back home later tomorrow ask him to share something of how he was encouraged during the gathering.

One of my main encouragements during these days is that the Church is ready for a new adventure in (as Pope Francis puts it) a new era. Too many priests and people seem to seek a church that is comfortable, however no healthy person settles for comfort. We are made for adventure.

Here is one of the brief video clips shared by Fr. James Mallon.

  1. Interesting Metaphors. Jesus walked on water. I choose to go to church because I encounter Jesus there. Sometimes we need to step away from the boats to realise why we go to church.
