Hearts Aflame

Jan 3, 2013

I travel today to the annual Hearts Aflame gathering.   For ten days, beginning later today, more than 100 young adults from all over New Zealand will live an intensive experience of formation in faith. The gathering is centred on Christ, and is characterised by a robust and lively experience of life as a Catholic follower of Jesus.

Each of the ten days is lived in following a growing desire to know Jesus more fully, and to follow the Catholic path of prayer and work with liturgies and formation-in-faith classes throughout every day.

My mission is to lead the retreat that begins the experience tonight and tomorrow.

Please pray for the leaders, the teachers, the participants, and for me; that this experience will be for all of us, and especially for the young people, a life-changing experience of the beauty of faith, lived in friendship with Jesus and those who seek to live with Jesus.
