the bells

Mar 29, 2017

A number of people have commented that this “Monastery Bells” Food For Faith clip (first published a few months ago) is one of their favourite FFF posts.  It is one of my favourites as well and was written on my return from a weekend retreat in a monastery near Manila.
The bells at this Augustinian monastery rang throughout the day and night calling the nuns (and the more enthusiastic retreatants) to prayer. In this way the bells were a helpful reminder to turn to what is essential.
You might like to find your own form of monastery bells…

  1. I can see why this clip is favourite with people. What a lovely idea to form your own “monastery bells”.

    • Thanks for the response Roisin. All the best for forming your own bells. I have a chiming clock which also works for me.
