church architecture in Christchurch

Jul 1, 2013

Last week I began to upload some of the youtube clips of Dr. Denis McNamara speaking on aspects of church architecture.  You can watch the first two of these clips here and here.

Dr. Denis will be visiting Christchurch later this month. Today the diocese issued the advertising details for the visit. You can find this information at this link on the Christchurch Diocese webpage.

I have been fortunate to have been taught by Denis at the Liturgical Institute in Mundelein Chicago where I am currently studying. A couple of years ago I took his course on Church architecture. Denis is an excellent presenter. Do whatever you can to get to his sessions!  Put Thursday evening 1 August in your diary for his public lecture at the Wigram Airforce Museum. And express your interest to your parish priest if you wish to attend any of Denis other presentations.

Over the next few weeks I will upload the links to more of Denis’ talks.  Here is one more talk just to whet your appetite. This one is not from the series of 10, but from a different series – this one discussing the meaning of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
