antidotes in a busy week

Apr 4, 2012

This is a busy week in New Zealand.  Schools finish their first term tomorrow.  Work is busy before the Easter break.

We don’t have time to read much.  So over the next few days I will blog Holy Week and Easter inspirations – mostly very brief reflections and quotations, perhaps a picture or a video clip.  Each piece will be designed to take just a minute or two to read or ponder.

I’ve used a couple of key words there…

The first is “antidote”.  Wikipedia defines antidote as: “a substance which can counteract a form of poisoning”. There is a toxicity flowing around us today. We see this in many areas: capitalism, injustice, fear, confusion about what it is to be a human person, morality…the list is long.  At times we allow these toxins to flow into us. We need antidotes.  I hope these blog entries help.

The next key word is “inspiration”.  This is a wonderful word. A quick google search now gave me this definition of “inspiration”:  to affect, guide or arouse by divine influence.

So I will title the next entries “inspiration” and give them a number.  Each is designed as a quick antidote and easily available inspiration.
