last papal tweet

Feb 28, 2013

Pope Benedict tweeted me this morning as he often does. These are not particularly personal tweets since a couple of million other people received the same tweets at the same moment. However it is the last time he will tweet, and undoubtedly this simple final message was something he thought and prayed about much.

His brief message conveys the heart of the Christian faith, and the heart of all human life. These words also summarise succinctly the heart of Pope Benedict’s faith. Christ is the centre of all, and joy is the fruit of this relationship. The pope tweeted:

“Thank you for your love and support.
May you always experience the joy
that comes from putting Christ
at the centre of your lives”
