building in faith

Sep 30, 2015

It was a privilege for me to spend the day yesterday with architect James McCrery, here in Christchurch at the invitation of Bishop Barry Jones to help the parishes of our diocese prepare to build new churches.

James’ appreciation of both architecture and Catholic faith comes together in ability to coherently and seamlessly communicate the beauty and the opportunity of the challenge before us.  This morning’s interview in the Christchurch Press (with the accompanying online video at this link) communicates something of this.

James will give a public lecture tonight (Wednesday 30 September) at Villa Maria College auditorium, 21 Peer Street, Christchurch.  7.30pm.  All welcome.
