Late last night NZ time Pope Francis’ apostolic exhortation “Amoris Laetitia – The Joy of Love” was promulgated. While it is directly the follow-up document after the two synod gatherings of 2014 & 2015 on the topic of the family, it is more significantly the fruit of the struggle of the Church in recent decades to communicate the beauty of truth (especially on marriage and family life), in an environment where family life is more complex than ever before.
