Weir on Baxter

Sep 4, 2016

In the annual Rochester Lecture the Catholic diocese of Christchurch offers an opportunity to hear well-regarded speakers on a variety of topics. This year the lecture will be given by Dr. John Weir S.M. who will speak on James K Baxter‘s life, letters and loves in a presentation entitled “Walking in the Dark.”

John is the foremost scholar of Baxter’s work, and was a personal friend of the poet. His most recent publication is the long awaited and much acclaimed Complete Prose of James K Baxter.

The lecture is open to all and will be held at Rochester and Rutherford Hall, 77 Ilam Road, Christchurch, this Wednesday 7th September at 7.30pm.

You can get a taste of John’s insights at this Radio NZ interview marking the publication of the complete prose.
