God cannot work in your past or your future today.
God has worked in your past, and God works in the present to heal the past, but God cannot today work in your past.
In the same way God cannot today work in your future. God will work in your future, and God works in your present to prepare you for the future. But God cannot today work in your future.
The only moment you have is the present moment, and the reality of this present moment.
Confused? I hope this brief video clip clarifies this important reality.
Chorus VII from “The Rock” by T.S. Eliot
“Then came, at a predetermined moment, a moment in time and of time,
A moment not out of time, but in time, in what we call history:
transecting, bisecting the world of time, a moment in time but not like a moment of time,
A moment in time but time was made through that moment :
for without the meaning there is no time, and that moment of time gave the meaning.”
The incarnation, an historic event, gave/gives/will always give time meaning.
Thanks Brian for taking us to Eliot a favourite. Have you heard Eliot reading Journey of the Magi at http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xc5rmb_t-s-eliot-journey-of-the-magi_creation
