Oscars inspiration

One of my most inspiring teachers taught me that because it’s not possible to experience everything in life, good movies and fiction are essential since they give us an insight into the lives of others.

As I write the Academy Awards are being held in Los Angeles awarding Oscars to those who have excelled in artistic and technical merit in recent movies.

The recipients’ thank you speeches are much of a muchness with some notable exceptions including Matthew McConaughey’s 2015 acceptance speech when awarded the Best Actor Oscar for his role in Dallas Buyers Club.
