hopeful living

Feb 16, 2025

.

In several retreats and reflections sessions already this year I have used the theme for this Jubilee Year: Pilgrims of Hope.

I’m looking forward to offering the reflection at Tuesday’s gathering at Sacred Heart Addington (Christchurch), open to all, especially those who are older – like me!

I have been asked to offer a 30 minute reflection (and lunch is provided as well). If you would like to join us send me a note at john@fff.org.nz and I’ll pass on extra numbers. I know the RSVP was a couple of day’s ago but I’ll just say I forgot! No problem.

Bring a friend or two – it’s not just for Catholics!

I look forward to seeing you there.

Is there any chance you could put your speech on F F F for those who are unable to attend?
      Thanks – P

  2. Much appreciated your reflections at Addington yesterday, John. Have also followed up with your Lectio Divina today which I also appreciated

Just to share one of those ‘God’ experiences’ you referred to yesterday – these days I often find myself asking ‘God, where are you’ This morning before going for a walk, I responded to a couple of email requests from agencies seeking financial support for people in need of help. While doing this I often find myself thinking that the reason I’m responding is because I feel guilty if I don’t rather than real concern for those in need. Having walked for a while the query ‘God, where are you’ arose again so I sat down to take in the great surrounds and in doing so received a response ‘I am present in those people such as the homeless and the blind you responded to this morning and for whom your support has been requested !’
