Lectio Divina

Feb 24, 2020

There are many different kinds of reading. We read a novel in a way that is different from reading a text book, and an email from a friend is read differently to a challenge from the boss.

The student of theology or history might approach the Bible as an academic study.

But the one who comes to the scriptures as a disciple of Jesus, ready to listen, brings all of the above approaches to a passage of the Old or New Testament acknowledging the historical and theological dimensions, but most of all with an openness to hear the voice of God, no longer simply the word from a page but in Jesus the Word made Flesh.

Set some time now to be still and silent and press play on either of these two links, a 15 minute and a 25 minute Lectio option using today’s Gospel reading.
