Kinder & Dante

Jun 24, 2026

.

If you are in Christchurch on Thursday evening of this week come and join me.

John Kinder makes regular appearances on the FFF Homily Studio. He was born in Invercargill, spent his school years in Palmerston North, studied at Victoria University in Wellington and spent most of his work career at the University of Western Australia (Italian Studies).

One of John’s many areas of expertise is the Italian poet Dante Alighieri (c. 1265–1321),  Italy’s most celebrated writer and the author of the epic poem The Divine Comedy (comprising InfernoPurgatorio, and Paradiso).

I love hearing John talk about Dante. It’s like hearing two friends in conversation with rich applications for twenty-first century life in Aotearoa.

So join me tomorrow evening at the Mary Potter Community Centre, 422 Durham in ChCh 6.30. Poster below for more info.

Click the image below to indicate attendance. This is important since seating is limited.

I’ll be there from 6.15 to chat with any FFF people who turn up.

And if you’re reading this in another part of the country and know someone in Christchurch who might be interested share this post with them.
