These post-Christmas and early new year days provide many New Zealanders with annual rest and recreation.

However some families have suffered tragedy in these vacation days. I’m thinking especially of a young Christchurch woman, Bridget (pictured) who while on holiday with her husband Dan and young family suffered cardiac arrest and following surgery remains seriously unwell and is in need of a miracle.

I’m just home after taking part in an evening prayer vigil at the church of Christ the King in Burnside where friends and family of Bridget filled the church to pray for a miracle to bring her back to full health.

I now invite you, wherever you are. to join us in prayer for Bridget.

Some are praying from today for nine days the novena to Saints Louis & Zelie Martin.

However I invite Food For Faith readers to join with me in prayer through the intercession of New Zealand’s own, newly Venerable Suzanne Aubert.

Let us pray:

Statement of Faith
We believe in God’s everlasting love for all,
and that through faith and great confidence in that love our petitions will be granted.
Therefore in the desire to promote God’s greater honour and glory
we gather together to pray through the intercession of Suzanne Aubert
for the healing of Bridget Martin.

Prayer for the cure
God our creator,
The life of Suzanne Aubert powerfully expressed the compassion of Jesus for the sick.
Now we ask you to grant, through her intercession, the complete cure of Bridget Martin
