Lent Online 2017

Feb 28, 2017

In response to requests, Food For Faith is offering an online retreat. Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on 1 March and this six week season of growth in faith seemed like an ideal opportunity to begin this new initiative and offer an “online retreat”.

Each day from Ash Wednesday until Easter Sunday a brief post will be uploaded to the www.foodforfaith.org.nz website. Some days there will be a paragraph or two of encouragement.  On other days there will be a short video clip or podcast.

The fact that the daily posts are online means that they can be topical and engage with the events that are a part of our world as these moments unfold. Prayer is an engagement with God who meets us in our reality, and this form of retreat in daily life is based on a personal encounter with Jesus Christ who dwells among us in our present reality.

Some people will use these reflections as their prime spiritual guide for Lent. Others may follow www.foodforfaith.org.nz alongside other programmes. The choice is yours.

To receive daily email updates throughout Lent please register on the website by following the link below. Those who sign-up will receive a daily early morning email offering a thought or two for the day.

I look forward to taking this Lenten journey with you.

In Christ
John
