.
I’m looking forward to Saturday’s retreat day (details below). While during the day I will offer a couple of reflections my aim is to provide those who come along with an opportunity to breathe – and I guarantee that Jesus will not miss this opportunity you give him.
From our earliest years we are trained – perhaps even programmed – to be active and productive. I suppose this serves us well, giving motivation and enabling us to get things done. However the problem comes when we become the protagonists in our relationship with Jesus – thinking it all depends on us.
Perhaps it’s time to let God be God, and be still that we might notice his presence and hear his voice.
Today’s gospel reading is a helpful reminder that the world of nature, including the trees given by Jesus as an example, bud without any effort on the part of the tree and without the help of the gardener.
Indeed the life of God is very near.
That’s what we are going to focus on in this year’s daily Advent reflections which begin tomorrow. You might encourage others to sign up at this link.
And if you are nearby and free tomorrow bring a friend and join us for the retreat day.
AND Cafe Gatherings are beginning again. Just send me date, time and place, with your name, turn up and write FFF on a napkin in the centre of the table, and with whoever turns up chat about your experience of God in the last few days.

I like your phrase ‘let God be Good’. That’s my takeaway for the day.
Unable to be with you on Sat at Lincoln Fr John. Thanks for all your gems this year. Looking forward to your Advent reflections
Would it be possible to do an on line day retreat in the future
