timing

.

Today is the last day our prayer list will appear — but I will continue to pray for these intentions and for any others that you may send.

Over the past week I have been flooded with emails as you request prayer for yourselves and those you love. Many of you had added a note outlining the details of your request.

Thank you.

I’m always happy to hear from you and sorry that I have not been able to respond to most emails.

More recently there have been a number of emails from readers telling of prayers answered.

Many years ago a retreat guide assured me that over the weeks, months and even years ahead I would experience the fruit of the prayer I had prayed in the retreat days.

I wasn’t sure what they meant, but recall some years later experiencing a moment of realising that the prayer I had prayed all those years earlier was finally being answered…

…and I knew beyond all doubt that God’s timing was perfect.

That’s the beauty of prayer.

When we pray we often have a particular intention with a fairly specific idea of what an answer to the prayer will look like and when it needs to happen.

But in every moment God is looking for an opportunity to do in us and through us and for us much more than we ever ask or imagine.

And so we pray, in trust, and in openness to the God’s answer and God’s timing.

And aware of my own experience of my solutions to my problems and my timings, I more than willing to let God be God and simply to live today with trust.

  3. Thank you Fr John for feeding so many peoples’ spirits during this Lenten and Easter Season and for your initiative to invite us to put the initials of friends and family that we would like prayer for. I personally saw the action of God’s love and healing in other people’s lives and in my own life . The discipline of just sitting twice a day and inviting God into that place of silence was powerful. Bless you

  6. My heartfelt thanks to God for prayers answered in his time. For many years my husband came to Mass with the family, and suddenly he is back to the Sacraments and loves his contact with the Joshua Mens Group.. Hallelua God does hear our prayers, in His time.
