Thank you Fr John for this spiritual guidance, much appreciated. I have struck gold today after listening to this lectio divina. After 19 years of leaving Mercy Sisters (Christchurch) one of the things I missed most was 6/8 days annual retreat. Today, I have found it again, and it’s gold! yeah. I feel I was transported back to retreat settings, for the 25 years of my early life I have experienced those sacred moments. Heavenly!! Now, living in my little apartment, daily I will listen to lectio divina and do my meditation, and carry on with life. Semi-retired, I’m enjoying the freedom I have to do what I need to do; enjoy simplicity of life and have a good laugh at some of the silly things I humanly do at times. Amen, Alleluia! Again, thanks for the FFF programme that saves us in this digital age. Kind regards, Marina

Such wise people have reflected on their life experience enough to know that while a peaceful and perfect day is welcome, we are most connected with others and therefore with God (we could also say most connected with God and therefore with others), when we live a struggle together.

Every day I am with people who may have once been baptised but now feel a distance between themselves and the Church and God. We are these people, as are too many of our family, friends, neighbours and workmates. This book therefore is for us.
