on women deacons

Jun 26, 2016

Friendship grows easily here at St Mary of the Lake University and Dawn Eden  is inspiring company. (Dawn’s blog at this link)  Her books The Thrill of the Chaste: finding fulfilment while keeping your clothes on, My Peace I give you: healing sexual wounds with the help of the saints, and most recently Remembering God’s Mercy: redeem the past and free yourself from past memories are classic works of spiritual writing. These three books are readable, and life-changing.

Dawn was interviewed this week on Fox News on the topic of women as deacons. It was an excellent 6 minute debate. I think you will be surprised and inspired (as I was) by the argument she uses.

Such wise people have reflected on their life experience enough to know that while a peaceful and perfect day is welcome, we are most connected with others and therefore with God (we could also say most connected with God and therefore with others), when we live a struggle together.
